Heat Recovery

When generating cold within your systems, the refrigeration technology in the form of compressors, condensers and pressure lines generates a lot of waste heat. If the waste heat can be used for heating or other processes, the system can be regarded as very efficient.

The heat recovery systems use the heat produced by cooling and the operator receives warm water at a sufficiently high temperature in just a few minutes. (For example 55ºC with a condensation temperature of 48ºC). The storage tanks with external plate heat exchangers have a capacity of 150 to 1,000 l.

The water storage tank is connected to the cold water pipe at the bottom. As soon as the connected refrigeration machine (or several at the same time) is running, the cold water flows out of the tank into the inner annulus of a double pipe and is heated in countercurrent to the refrigerant that flows through the outer annulus. The refrigerant is fully condensed. The water flows thermodynamically, automatically, past the so-called overheating section of the refrigerant, warms up to 5ºC to 7ºC above the condensation temperature and flows into the water storage tank at the top, where it remains in the insulated storage tank until it is called up. It doesn’t mix with the cold water.

Heat recovery is a simple but effective principle. These devices are usually easy to retrofit even in existing systems.

The Advantages at a Glance

Energy saving

The system uses the waste heat from the refrigeration systems – 100 percent

Safety circuit in the insulating jacket

All heat exchangers are supplied with a safety circuit. This system enables full energy transfer.

Universally applicable

The heat recovery units can be used universally. Wherever refrigeration systems from 1 kW to 400 kW are operated.

Hot water from 50 – 60 ° C

The heat recovery unit uses the waste heat from refrigeration systems to generate hot water of around 50º – 60º C, around 7º C higher than the condensation temperature.

Environmental protection

Saving energy is a better way of protecting the environment.
